For years, people complained about how bad terrorist attacks were getting within the borders of the United States. Then one day this man came along saying he was going to do something about it. Half the people complained that he was going to do something about it. Doesn’t make any sense to me.
President Trump has assembled a powerful team of law enforcement in his cabinet. He intends to reign this country’s crime problem in, and he’s got just the men to do it with. He has surrounded himself with some of the best and brightest in the military world. This includes DHS Secretary John Kelly who is taking his job very seriously. Kelly has been put in charge of dealing with domestic terrorists, and he’s utilizing every tool in his proverbial belt to do it.
Unfortunately, the United States is still dealing with a big domestic terrorism problem. It’s a crying shame that those who grow in surrounded by freedom would be willing to stab their brothers and sisters in the back with bomb fragments. However, Kelly isn’t spending any time crying over it. According to Kelly, there have been 36 cases of “homegrown terrorists” in 18 states. He refers to this as being a relentless attack every single day.
In case you aren’t familiar with that term, that is a person who is a natural born citizen of the United States who has been converted to Islam and decided to turn against their own country and try to go out in a blaze of glory, taking as many non-believers as possible with them. While we plan to keep as many of our sane citizens safe as possible, it seems that the United States Government might just accommodate the blaze of glory part of their wish.
Via Washington Free Beacon: The FBI has “open terrorist investigations in all 50 states,” according to DHS Secretary John Kelly, who disclosed on Tuesday that there have been at least 37 “ISIS-linked plots to attack our country” since 2013, a number that shows no signs of diminishing.
“We’ve seen an unprecedented spike in homegrown terrorism,” Kelly disclosed. “These are the cases we know about—homegrown terrorism is notoriously difficult to predict and control.”
“I tell you, without exaggeration, they try to carry out this mission each and every single day and no one can tell you how to stop it. No one,” he said.
“We don’t get to vet them,” Kelly said. “We don’t know their intentions. We don’t know they’re here. They slip into our country unnoticed, living among us, and we are completely blind as to what they are capable of.”
These threats just scrape the surface of the danger posed to America by terrorists inside and outside of the country, Kelly said.
“This is all bad news, but it gets much worse,” he explained. “Experts estimate that perhaps 10,000 citizens of Europe have joined the caliphate in Syria and Iraq. Thousands more are from nations in Asia, Africa and the Western Hemisphere. They have learned how to make IEDs, employ drones to drop ordnance, and acquired experience on the battlefield that by all reports they are bringing back home.”
The war on terror has been going on for over 15 years, but unfortunately, these attacks got worse, not better under our previous administration. I’d like to say that it was because it crept up and no one saw it coming, but unfortunately, it seems more like they saw it, and didn’t want to deal with it. Now we are having Americans die on American soil and up until recently, we weren’t able to do anything about it. These criminals within our own borders have no moral reservations about taking out as many “infidels” as they possibly can. They consider anyone who isn’t willing to die for the religion of Islam to be someone who is worthy of death, and the more people they take out with them when they go, the more rewards they think they will get in the afterlife.
