Sixteen years ago today, America faced one of the most horrific terror attacks we would ever have to endure. Lower Manhattan was billowing smoke and ashes floated in the air. Despite the shining sun, the air in New York was thick and grey. One man made his way through the mess that was Ground Zero and stopped to salute those who volunteered to give it all in order the help victims of the attack. He made a promise to rebuild.
Just two days after the horrific September 11th attack on the World Trade Center, an interview was conducted with Donald Trump. He was focused on digging through the debris to rescue survivors as well as figuring out what would come next for our country.
Later, Donald Trump submitted his design for a similar structure to the original World Trade Center that was set aside, and instead, the Freedom Tower was built.
Western Journalism wrote:
Trump was quoted saying “I have hundreds of men inside working right now, and we’re bringing down another 125 in a little while. They’ve never done work like this before. It’s terrible.”
He explained, “not only is it devastating, but its very dangerous because every few minutes a whistle would go off and everybody would just run because you have all the buildings around it which are in such a weakened state that people just don’t know.”
He went on to say, “it’s a terrible thing for the workers and it’s a terrible thing for the world, really.”
Donald Trump provided support for the workers who just wouldn’t give up.
He continued on, “it’s a very depressing situation for these folks.”
On the same day Donald Trump was interviewed there was a report that stated that five firefighters had just been saved from the debris alive. Trump didn’t know at the time, but the report was later proven to be false. The truth of the matter is that the report was based on multiple rescuers who had been saved from the mess after they had been trapped earlier in the day.
When Trump asked if he thought that there were survivors he explained, “it’s a tough situation, but you can’t give up hope. There probably are some more people in there but you can’t give up hope.”
Then, Donald Trump made note that the rescue teams that responded showed courage like he had never seen before.
He was in Manhattan when the attacks took place, and he explained that he saw with his own eyes the smoke billowing upwards from the Twin Towers following the attack.
President Trump noted that in New Jersey, there were Muslims dancing on rooftops celebrating the attacks. Of course, the Left wasn’t happy about his observations.
We cannot forget what happened sixteen years ago today, and we are so grateful to have a man like President Trump leading our country now. He is truly a patriot who would do anything for our country and recognizes the sacrifices so many made following the 9/11 terror attacks.
